BIS Certification for PVC soles and heels: 

This standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards Institution on 12 October 1972, after the draft was finalized by the Footwear Sectional Committee. In this standard 6719: 1972, requirements for PVC soles and PVC heels which are intended for the manufacture of the footwear and repair of the footwear have been specified.

Material : 

The material which is used in the soles and heels shall be compounded with PVC resins. 

Though the PVC resins should be compounded with plasticizers and stabilizers. 

Physical requirements : 

The material shall comply with the requirements given in the standard : 

Product of scope : 

This standard prescribes the requirements and the methods of sampling and testing for PVC full solid soles with or without heels. This standard does not cover soles and PVC for all PVC shoes. Top lifts and ladies high heels are also not covered in this standard.
