On September 18, 2023, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a Quality Control Order (QCO) named 'Flux Cored Solder Wire'.

The Flux Cored Solder Wire (Quality Control) Order, 2023, specifies a type of solder wire that has flux in the center. Without flux, wire solder would be difficult to use. It is used for electronic components, vehicles, telecommunications, and other engineering applications.

According to the BIS's recent update on March 22, 2024,. Grant of All India First Licence for “Flux Cored Solder Wire” as per IS 1921:2005 is mandatory for a licence. Further information is accessible on the BIS website.
